Polar H10 vs Wahoo TICKR - Where are the differences?
Where are the differences?
Let's take the heart rate sensors Polar H10* and Wahoo TICKR* in the comparison and look at the differences more closely.
Heart rate measurement
Both sensors have the ECG measurement. This is very accurate and is recommended rather than the optical measurement.
We have a chest strap on both devices. So it is measured over the chest. This is classic for ECG sensors.
Connection options
Bluetooth has become a very popular option for connecting heart rate sensors and pulse belts. Both the Polar H10 and the Wahoo TICKR offer this. The connection via Bluetooth is mostly used for cell phones or fitness watches. Some new devices in fitness studios also offer Bluetooth as an option.
The standard ANT+ less known. However, it is often used in the field of sports. Some finte watches, especially from Garmin and Polar, support the form of the connection. In comparison between the Polar H10 and the Wahoo TICKR you get ANT+ with both.
The Polar H10 offers you 5kHz in contrast to the Wahoo TICKR. The connection type is also called a gymlink. The 5kHz is, as Gymlink says, mostly used for equipment in the gym. These include, for example, treadmills or bicycle ergometers.
Waterproof
Both heart rate sensors from the comparison are waterproof. The Polar H10 can be used up to 30 m under water. The Wahoo TICKR can be submerged up to 30 m under water.
Belt
Most heart rate sensors can be adjusted in size. This is especially relevant for chest straps. The minimum belt length of the Polar H10 is 51,0 cm. For the Wahoo TICKR the minimum belt length is 58,0 cm. The maximum length for the Polar H10 is 93,0 cm. The Wahoo TICKR has a maximum belt length of 122,0 cm.
