Where are the differences?

Let's have a look at the differences between the JBL GO 2 and the JBL JR Pop.

Size and weight

The two devices differ in their dimensions. The smaller a loudspeaker is, the more practical it is in use, of course.

  • JBL GO 2: 8.6 cm x 3.16 cm x 7.12 cm
  • JBL JR Pop: 8.78 cm x 7.55 cm x 3.97 cm
The JBL GO 2 with 184 g is heavier than the JBL JR Pop with a weight of 121.2 g. This makes the JBL JR Pop more suitable for transport.

Battery

With a battery life of up to 5,0 hours there is no difference between the two devices. In practice, the specification of the battery life can often be somewhat lower, since the manufacturers specify the maximum possible performance. In the loading time the JBL JR Pop performs better with 2,0 hours. With the JBL GO 2 the loading time is 2,5 hours. With 730 mah the JBL GO 2 has a larger battery capacity. With the JBL JR Pop the capacity is 600 mah.

Waterproof

Both speakers are waterproof. Both the JBL JR Pop and the JBL GO 2 are certified with IPX7.

Bluetooth

The built-in Bluetooth differs in the versions. The JBL GO 2 has Bluetooth version 4.1 installed. At the JBL JR Pop the newer version 4.2 is integrated. A newer Bluetooth version offers a better stability in the connection. Thus also a higher comfort in the application is given.

Powerbank

With the Powerbank function, other devices can be charged via USB using the speaker. Of course, this is at the expense of the battery life of the speaker.

Leistung

Both speakers have a power of 3 Watt. At the JBL GO 2 we find a driver with 40 mm. The driver of the JBL JR Pop has 5 mm.

Lichteffekte

Light effects are only offered by the JBL GO 2. But this is only an optical difference. The light effects have no effect on the sound.
