Size and weight
The two devices differ in their dimensions. The smaller a loudspeaker is, the more practical it is in use, of course.

Both speakers are waterproof. The JBL Boombox 2 is certified with IPX7. With the JBL Boombox 3 a IPX67 certification is present.
Bluetooth
The built-in Bluetooth differs in the versions. The JBL Boombox 2 has Bluetooth version 5.1 installed. At the JBL Boombox 3 the newer version 5.3 is integrated. A newer Bluetooth version offers a better stability in the connection. Thus also a higher comfort in the application is given.
Powerbank
In this comparison, both devices can be used as power banks. With the Powerbank function, other devices can be charged via USB using the speaker. Of course, this is at the expense of the battery life of the speaker.
