Garmin HRM-Pro vs HRM-Run - Where are the differences?
Where are the differences?
Let's take the two heart rate sensors HRM-Pro* and HRM-Run* of the brand Garmin and look at the differences.
Heart rate measurement
Both sensors have the ECG measurement. This is very accurate and is recommended rather than the optical measurement.
We have a chest strap on both devices. So it is measured over the chest. This is classic for ECG sensors.
Connection options
Bluetooth has become a very popular option for connecting heart rate sensors and pulse belts. Here there is a difference. Only the Garmin HRM-Pro offers a Bluetooth interface. The connection via Bluetooth is mostly used for cell phones or fitness watches. Some new devices in fitness studios also offer Bluetooth as an option.
The standard ANT+ less known. However, it is often used in the field of sports. Some finte watches, especially from Garmin and Polar, support the form of the connection. In comparison between the Garmin HRM-Pro and the Garmin HRM-Run you get ANT+ with both.
Waterproof
Both heart rate sensors from the comparison are waterproof. Up to 50 m both devices can be used under water
Belt
Most heart rate sensors can be adjusted in size. This is especially relevant for chest straps. Both belts have a minimum length of 60,0 cm. The maximum length for both belts is 142,0 cm.
