Bosch PLR 40 C vs Stabila LD 250 BT - Where are the differences?
Where are the differences?
Let's take a closer look at the laser range finders Bosch PLR 40 C and Stabila LD 250 BT and compare the differences.
measuring range / distance
The measuring range of a laser rangefinder is extremely important. The number describes the maximum distance the device can measure. For most devices the maximum distance can be derived from the name.
With 40,00 m the PLR 40 C from Bosch has a smaller measuring range than the Stabila LD 250 BT with 50,00 m. Thus the Stabila LD 250 BT is better. However, if you do not need such a large measuring range, you can choose the smaller Bosch PLR 40 C with less distance.
The minimum distance is the Bosch PLR 40 C at 40,00 m. The Stabila LD 250 BT can determine a minimum distance of 50,00 m for the measuring range.
The indicated measuring range usually refers to ideal conditions. Poor weather conditions can affect the measuring range. This includes fog, for example. This is interesting for use on construction sites. In home use, this usually plays hardly any role. Under bad conditions the possible measuring range is smaller.
Measuring accuracy
The better a laser rangefinder is, the more accurate the results. The differences here are in the range of a few millimeters.
For the LD 250 BT from Stabila the accuracy is worse with a maximum deviation of +/- 2,00 mm than for the PLR 40 C. There the accuracy is +/- 1,10 mm. The measuring accuracy refers to good conditions. If bad weather conditions are given, the measuring accuracy can deteriorate. The same is true for the measuring accuracy.
Good rangefinders can output smaller steps in the measurement. Of course this also affects the accuracy of the measurement. The measurement results are output at the Bosch PLR 40 C in steps of 1,00 mm. Thus the device offers smaller steps than the LD 250 BT of Stabila in comparison. There the smallest step is at 31,12 mm.
Measurement functions
Most devices offer even more than simple distance measurement. This includes area function, room function and summation.
The area function is offered by both devices from the comparison. Here you can calculate the area from your measurements directly with the laser measuring device.
Both measuring devices from this comparison offer you a room function which allows you to determine volume (m³). Classically this function is used to determine a room size.
Inclination measurement
Some laser distance meters offer a tilt measurement. This allows to determine angles with the device. You have to do without it for the Bosch PLR 40 C as well as for the Stabila LD 250 BT.
Accumulator and batteries
To save energy, both devices switch off automatically. The automatic switch-off time is the Bosch PLR 40 C at 5 minutes. After 3 minutes the Stabila LD 250 BT switches off automatically.
