Where are the differences?

Let's have a look at the differences between the Sony SRS-XB12 and the Sony SRS-XB43.

Size and weight

The two devices differ in their dimensions. The smaller a loudspeaker is, the more practical it is in use, of course.

Battery

The battery life is shorter with the Sony SRS-XB12 with up to 16,0 hours than with the Sony SRS-XB43. There the battery life is up to 24,0 hours. In practice, the specification of the battery life can often be somewhat lower, since the manufacturers specify the maximum possible performance.

Waterproof

Both speakers are waterproof. Both the Sony SRS-XB43 and the Sony SRS-XB12 are certified with IP67.

Bluetooth

The built-in Bluetooth differs in the versions. The Sony SRS-XB12 has Bluetooth version 4.2 installed. At the Sony SRS-XB43 the newer version 5.0 is integrated. A newer Bluetooth version offers a better stability in the connection. Thus also a higher comfort in the application is given. The range is the Sony SRS-XB12 up to 10,0 m.

Both devices also have NFC installed. This allows a simple connection to the playback device.

Powerbank

The Sony SRS-XB43 can be used as powerbank. With the Powerbank function, other devices can be charged via USB using the speaker. Of course, this is at the expense of the battery life of the speaker.

Connecting multiple speakers
