Let's take a closer look at the differences between the Nitecore NU25* and Petzl Bindi* headlamps.
Luminosity and luminous range
You can find the specification of lumens on as good again good flashlight. With 360 Lumen the Nitecore NU25 offers more so the Petzl Bindi which can do maximum 200 Lumen. The more lumens a flashlight offers, the brighter it can shine.
Thus, more lumens means a higher maximum luminosity. Thus, the Nitecore NU25* beats the Petzl Bindi for maximum luminosity. Outdoors, more brightness is often handy. When running in the city, this can sometimes be disadvantageous, since the brightness can also dazzle.
With up to 81 m, the Nitecore NU25* outshines the Petzl Bindi in luminous range. The latter has a maximum luminous range of up to 36 m.
The values here come from information and tests of the manufacturers. With unknown dealers, also called China dealers, the data can often not be correct.
The focus of the light cone cannot be freely adjusted in either model. Partially, however, the focus changes with the different fixed light levels.
The light intensity is not freely dimmable for the Nitecore NU25, nor for the Petzl Bindi. However, with different light levels, the light intensity may also vary.
Red light and further light colors
Red light is provided by both headlamps from the comparison. The red light is used for night vision among other things to see better. Also to not be seen by wildlife or when fishing and not to scare off is the red light advantageous.
Besides red and white, some models offer other colors. These are usually for better night vision as well. The Nitecore NU25 and Petzl Bindi both have no other colors.
Batterie und Akkulaufzeit
Both headlamps are powered by a battery (Lithium-ion battery). With a maximum burn time of Nitecore NU25, the headlamp is ahead of the Petzl Bindi. The latter can shine for a maximum of 50,0 hours. The maximum operating time is always specified at the lowest power.
For many headlamps there are also special rechargeable batteries from the manufacturer to use the lamps longer. However, normal rechargeable batteries can also be used.
Which headlamp is lighter?
Especially when hiking or climbing, ballast is undesirable. But also when running a lighter lamp is of course more comfortable. The Petzl Bindi* has a weight of 35 g. The weight of the Nitecore NU25 is 54 g.
Which lamp is weatherproof?
The headlamps from the comparison both have IP certification. The Nitecore NU25 is certified with IP66. The Petzl Bindi is certified with IPX4. Thus there is a difference at the point. The first digit stands for protection against dust and dirt. If there is an X in this position, this is not rated. The maximum possible value is 6. The second digit stands for protection against water and moisture. Here the maximum is 9.
