Where are the differences?

Let's take a closer look at the differences between the G935* and Kraken* gaming headsets.

What year are the headsets from?

The release year is of course important when comparing two headsets. After all, the release date has an influence on the state of the art and usually also affects the price. There is no difference in this comparison. Both gaming headsets, the Logitech G935 and the Razer Kraken, are from the year 2019. Thus, the technical starting point is not very different.

Connection options

Let's start with the connectivity options from Logitech G935 and Razer Kraken. Both give you the option to be wired. A wired connection reduces connection problems and interference, which is an advantage. In return, the cable can possibly interfere.

Radio offers the disadvantage that there can be interference in the verdinbung. In addition, with radio you are usually dependent on a battery, which can also go flat during use. There is one more difference in the connection. The Logitech G935* can be connected wirelessly, unlike the Razer Kraken. However, often the wireless headsets also offer the additional option to connect the headset via cable.

Cable and battery

In this comparison, only the Logitech G935 has a built-in battery. The battery life is up to Logitech G935.

The cable can only be removed on the Logitech G935. This is advantageous when a headset is used or transported wirelessly. With a length of 2,0 m the Logitech G935* has a longer cable. The cable length of the Razer Kraken is 1,3 m. With a USB sound card additional cable can be added.

Audio

Both gaming headsets have a driver of 50 mm and thus do not differ. The bigger the driver, the better and louder low frequencies can be reproduced. However, it depends on more factors and can therefore only be taken as a small benchmark.

For the Logitech G935 the frequency range starts at 20 Hz. For the Razer Kraken the value is at 12 Hz. The end is at Logitech G935 for the 20000 Hz and at Razer Kraken for the 280000 Hz. What is really important here is the range between 50 Hz and 10,000 Hz, which is covered by just about every headset nowadays.

The higher the impedance, the more power a speaker can produce. Also the sound becomes clearer. With a value of 32 Ω the Logitech G935* performs better here. The impedance of the Razer Kraken is at a value of 32 Ω.

Both gaming headsets have the option for 7.1 surround sound.

Microphone

Of course, both headsets have a microphone built in, which is also adjustable. The microphone is not detachable on either model.

The microphone frequency range of the Logitech G935 starts at 20 Hz. The microphone of the Razer Kraken starts at 12 Hz. The microphone of the Logitech G935 ends at a frequency range of 20000 Hz. The frequency range from the microphone of the Razer Kraken ends at 280000 Hz.

Volume control and mute

Almost every gaming headset offers the possibility of volume control and mute. So it is also in this case.

Both models offer the option of muting. The Logitech G935 is operated via Auricle. With the Razer Kraken the control runs per Cable.

Which headset has more features?

Finally, let's take a look at the equipment. Here, some models have lighting. This is where the two headsets differ. Only the Logitech G935 has an illumination. However, this does not necessarily make the Razer Kraken worse, since it only has optical effects.

Furthermore, some headsets have freely programmable buttons, as is also known from gaming mice or keyboards. You get this function only with the Logitech G935 with 3 keys on the number.
