Size and weight

Battery
With regard to battery life, the JBL Charge Essential can trump with up to 20,0 hours. The JBL Charge Essential has a battery life of up to 10,0 hours. In practice, the specification of the battery life can often be somewhat lower, since the manufacturers specify the maximum possible performance. In the loading time the JBL Clip 3 performs better with 3,0 hours. With the JBL Charge Essential the loading time is 3,1 hours. With 6000 mah the JBL Charge Essential has a larger battery capacity. With the JBL Clip 3 the capacity is 1000 mah.
Waterproof
Both speakers are waterproof. Both the JBL Clip 3 and the JBL Charge Essential are certified with IPX7.
Bluetooth
The built-in Bluetooth is identical to version 4.1 for both devices. A newer Bluetooth version offers a better stability in the connection. Thus also a higher comfort in the application is given.
Powerbank
The function of a powerbank provides the JBL Charge Essential. With the Powerbank function, other devices can be charged via USB using the speaker. Of course, this is at the expense of the battery life of the speaker.
Leistung
The performance is the JBL Charge Essential at 2 x 10 Watt. The JBL Clip 3 has a power of 3.3 Watt. At the JBL Charge Essential we find a driver with 50 mm. The driver of the JBL Clip 3 has 40 mm.
