Waterproof
Both speakers are waterproof. Both the JBL Xtreme 2 and the JBL Charge Essential 2 are certified with IPX7.
Bluetooth
With Bluetooth version 5.1 the JBL Charge Essential 2 has a newer version than the JBL Xtreme 2. There we have Bluetooth of the version 4.2. A newer Bluetooth version offers a better stability in the connection. Thus also a higher comfort in the application is given.
Powerbank
In this comparison, both devices can be used as power banks. With the Powerbank function, other devices can be charged via USB using the speaker. Of course, this is at the expense of the battery life of the speaker.

The performance is the JBL Charge Essential 2 at 30 + 10 Watt. The JBL Xtreme 2 has a power of 2 x 20 Watt.
